TPE granules are not made of rubber (rubber), but of thermoplastic elastomers. Thermoplastic elastomers do not crosslink and can therefore be heated and melted as often as required. This makes TPE an absolutely recyclable raw material. It is also an impressive product from a sporting point of view: values such as power loss and ball reflection are easily achieved and the smell is very low compared to other granules. TPE retains its elastic properties due to the material and the grain shape significantly longer than all rubber granules. Because of the comparatively high price, it is used almost exclusively in professional football, and its low distribution also explains why there are currently no RAL-tested TPE granules.
