Galvanic Sinking

Zinc protects noble metals from corrosion and in this function is indispensable in many industries. The galvanic zinc deposition takes place in acidic or alkaline electrolytes. The degree of gloss of the surface can be adjusted from matt to glossy by adding organic substances.

In contrast to other coatings, zinc offers an active cathodic corrosion protection in addition to the shielding effect. Compared to the more noble iron, zinc acts as a sacrificial anode. This effect also protects the base material in the event of damage after coating (scratches or bruises). Further properties are achieved through downstream processes such as passivation, sealing and the like. The modular Collinox layer systems are adapted to customer requirements.
